Obituary of Hazel Elaine Taylor
Hazel Elaine Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away July 8, 2021 at home. She was born September 28, 1946, in Denver, Colorado to William Gordon Hill and Marie Elvira Hallinan. Hazel attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1964. She went to Cosmetology School and worked as a hairdresser for several years. She started her Civil Service career with the United States Air Force in 1982 and spent the last thirty years serving as the Secretary for the Air Force Academy Band. Hazel loved her work and treated every band member and their families like they were her family. In her spare time, she loved to go to the movies and if you attended the movie with her, you'd better be prepared for a scream or laughter because she was easily startled. She loved Krispy Kreme doughnuts and would screech into the parking lot when the, "Hot Now", sign was on. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Hazel was incredibly proud of each one. She was ecstatic to become a great-grandma, GG, in recent years. She would watch videos of the great-grandbabies over and over and giggle uncontrollably. She had a good heart and was always a helping hand to those in need. She will be missed immensely by her family, friends, and coworkers.Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Hill; and sister, Kathleen Sampson. She is survived by a sister, Cecilia Vale of Aurora; her daughters, Nanette Sinclaire of Colorado Springs and Laurie Taylor (Rick Peters) of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Leona Sinclaire of Colorado Springs, Ryan Sinclaire (Alex) of Colorado Springs, and Brittany Peters (Daymon Jarrett) of Colorado Springs; and great-grandchildren, Murdock Sinclaire and Ileana Sinclaire. For service information please contact the family via Hazel's Facebook.
