Obituary of Donald "Gene" Chrisman
Donald "Gene" Chrisman, 83, passed away July 12, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on October 14, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado to Russell and Dorothy Chrisman. Gene graduated from Hooper High school as a Bulldog in 1956 and promptly joined the United States Navy. He served on the USS Hornet and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1960. He returned to Colorado where he met the love of his life, Carolyn Strauser. They married on May 17, 1961 and spent fifty-four years together before her death in 2015. Gene was a jack of all trades, including farming/reaching, construction and agriculture. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix! His favorite job, however, was running a little tourist shop in Lincoln, New Mexico, where he met and talked to people from all over the world. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; his parents, Russell and Dorothy; and brothers, Richard and Douglas. Gene is survived by his older brother, Robert; his daughter, Cassandra "Candy"; his daughter,� Anna, her husband, Sandrew, and their children, Cameron and Cassandra "Casey"; his son, Don, his wife, Alisa and their children, Rachel, Zachary and his wife, Jessica. Gene was a loving, kind man and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed. Services will be held at a later date.
