Obituary of Dorothy Ann Schultz
Dorothy Ann Schultz�went to be with the�Lord�on�July 23,�2021�after a lengthy illness.� Dorothy was born in Mayville, North Dakota,�to Harold and Carol Willmert on April�18, 1937.���She grew up on the family farm near Hope, North Dakota, spending winters in Kansas City,�Missouri.��Dorothy�was valedictorian of her class at�Notre Dame de Sion High School in Kansas City�and�graduated�from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska.� She�received�her master's degree from the�University�of Nebraska-Omaha.���Dorothy met the love of her life, Erling, while at Dana College.� They were married in 1957.� Daughter,�Deborah�was�born�in 1958 and�their son, Paul, followed in 1959.��Dorothy taught French at Burke High School in Omaha from its opening in 1967 until her retirement in�1992.� She received numerous accolades for her teaching abilities, including the Alice Buffet Outstanding Teacher Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Dana College.�Dorothy loved her family and was a�devoted�member of�the Lutheran church.� She was an avid�crafter and card-maker�and delighted�in sending her custom creations�to�family�and�friends�on birthdays and other special�occasions.� Dorothy�followed�Cornhusker�football�and�all the Denver�and Phoenix�sports teams.�Dorothy�and Erling�enjoyed international travel�and�many�cruises.��After retiring, they�lived�full-time�in their�RV,�spending�summers in Gunnison, Colorado,�while wintering�in Casa Grande, Arizona,�ultimately�living�in Casa�Grande year-round.� They recently relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.�She�is�survived�by�her�husband�of�sixty-four�years,�Erling;�daughter,�Deborah�(Terry)�DeBauche�of�Elbert, �Colorado;�son, Paul (Janet) Schultz of Boulder, Colorado;�brother, Walter (Joan) Willmert of Lawrence, Kansas;�sister, Carol�(Jake)�Weigel�of�Lexington,�Oklahoma;�grandchildren, Spencer (Hanna)�DeBauche, Ethan (Rachel)�DeBauche, Adrienne�DeBauche, Anna (Josh) Cole, Leah Schultz, and Hal Schultz;�and�great-granddaughter, Nora Dorothy�DeBauche.���Memorial Service, 11:00 AM, Friday, August 6, 2021,�Holy Cross�Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.��Memorials in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Salvation Army or�Trinity�Lutheran Church in Casa Grande.��Cards to the family may be sent C/O The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado� 80923.
