I attended and met Berl at Nebraska Wesleyan and attended most of his basketball games. My family and I were active members at Good Shepherd United Methodist church when Berl was minister. He and wife Kathy were like family. Our prayers are with Kathy, Jeff, Allison and rest of family. Gene and Marj Krause and family.

Burl was such a dear soul who always encouraged me in ministry. We shared a deep love of global justice issues and he gifted me with a nativity that he had purchased while in our mutually beloved Palestine. I will always remember his smart wit, his generosity of spirit, and his Christ-like love. My condolences to the whole family and all who loved him.

I didn't know Rev. Keeps very well in my teens but grew to love him in later years. I know my parents, John and Marilyn Millar at Good Shepherd loved him deeply. I am so sorry for your loss but glad to know his earthly journey is complete and he can rest.
