Obituary of James Bernard Junglen

James Bernard Junglen, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 9, 2021. He was a beloved father and grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.Jim was born March 9, 1932 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Bernard and Helen (Stein) Junglen, where he grew up. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1948. He also served in the United States Merchant Marines from 1949 to 1953. He later met Leatrice (Sauve) Junglen while they worked as dance instructors for Author Murray Studios. They were married on November 4, 1956, however, divorced many years later. While together, they relocated to Security, Colorado in 1959.As a Master Electrician, he found, and operated for many years, South Suburban Electric, a successful electrical contracting business. Later in life, Jim attended the University of Minnesota where he earned a bachelor's degree in Construction and Facilities Management. Jim worked until his retirement as an electrical engineer for several firms in Colorado. Jim was an enthusiastic person who always felt the need to be involved. He was involved with many community organizations; The Knights of Columbus, Dance Instructor with Author Murray Dance Studios, thirteen years on the Widefield School District 3 Board of Education, Southern Colorado Apprenticeship Training Task Force, CETA Consortium, Military Affairs Committee, Widefield Boosters, Security Lions Club, The Security Library Board. His most proud of accomplishment was joining Alcoholics Anonymous and his forty-five years of sobriety.Jim loved to work and stay busy. The only thing that he loved more was watching his family grow and cherished every moment. Survivors include his children, Mark Junglen (Geena Hudgins), Kim (David) Robertson, and Kevin (Cathy) Junglen; siblings, Carol Ann (Jack) Iten and Roger (Sue) Junglen; his grandchildren, Brian, Rhiannon, John Paul, Jacob, Normandy, and Kendra; his great-grandchildren, Brian Jr. and Andrea; his great-great-granddaughter, Bailey; and his many nieces and nephews. Jim was so very thankful as he was truly blessed.
