Obituary of Laura Lea Cantore

Laura Lea Cantore, 49, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a valiant, two-year battle with breast cancer. She was born June 7, 1972 to Anita Beatrice MacKinney and William Malcom Cochrane MacKinney in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Laura went to high school at Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School in Brandon, Manitoba and graduated in 1990.A natural musician, singer, and actress, Laura enjoyed performing through her high school years and beyond. While living in Montreal, Quebec, she sang in an established choral society, while mastering the French language. She spent four years in Quebec in several cities as she prepared for a career in tourism, which eventually brought her to Calgary, Alberta and Victoria, British Columbia. After several years, she decided to switch careers and went to Minot, North Dakota and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Communication Disorders. It was during this time in Minot that she met the love of her life, Matt, a U.S. Air Force Officer. They were married in Minot on August 3, 2002 and began their lives together. Over the next nineteen years, Laura shifted her attention to her family as an exceptional homemaker and mother. Laura and Matt welcomed three cherished children, David, Daniel, and Daphne, and lived in thirteen different homes across California, South Carolina, Virginia, Rhode Island, and Colorado as the Air Force and, later the Space Force, posted them.Laura is survived by her husband, Matthew S.
