Colorado will not be the same without Pam being there to welcome me. And as for memories, too many to count and most to stay between my memories and the couch downstairs. The warmest memories are of the forbidden "snow dances" done on the deck just to see her and Bob's reactions to the wonderful stories shared on any number of our visits. Stories of squirrels playing havoc with the wiring, the occasional bear or dear seen off the deck, or going to places around Colorado Springs and sharing precious time, making memories. She and Bob were the BEST host, friends and family. I miss her so.

I have too many memories of Pamala to place them all here. She was a second Mom to me and many other neighborhood kids who frequently were at the Childress home, or at various school plays or events. I always appreciated how she'd take the time to speak to us and listen to what we had to say like we were just as important as the adults in the room. I remember her energy, positive nature, and love of the arts. Perhaps my favorite memory of Pamala is seeing her attend various school plays and musicals (usually at the premiere or the final show). I remember she would bring roses to give to the cast or toss on stage during the applause/ encore. I always thought that was such a wonderful, warm, classy, romantic idea and gesture. After all, it was just a middle school or high school play… yet she still made the extra effort to stop on the way to the show and buy flowers. That made people feel special and the younger people felt important, respected, and like equals. She will be greatly missed, and fondly, vividly, remembered by the many people who were touched by her life and kindness. Here's to you Mrs. Childress, thank you. We love you!
