Obituary of Linnie Corinne Stewart

Linnie Corinne (Jones) Stewart, age 88, passed from this life on September 7, 2021, at her home in Falcon, Colorado. She was surrounded by her loving family.Corinne was born August 22, 1933 in her beloved Roswell, New Mexico to Opal Linnie (Gass) Jones and Francis Lee Jones. There she met the love of her life, Jack Stewart, who was stationed at the local Walker Air Force Base. They were married on February 27, 1953. From there Corinne raised four children and created a loving home all while moving across the country and the world living in Louisiana, Florida, Arkansas, Alaska, North Dakota, and Germany before settling in Colorado Springs in 1978. Along the way, she supported her husband in business endeavors including a hardware store in New Port Richie, Florida, and selling jewelry and embroidered jackets and shirts at Lowrey Air Force Base, Fort Carson, and Chapel Hills Mall.Corinne enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts and became very skilled at painting, ceramics, sewing, and crocheting. Her other interests included reading, western movies, shopping, camping, and rock hounding.She is preceded in death by her husband of over sixty years, Jack Stewart; parents, Opal Linnie (Gass) Jones and Francis Jones; brothers, JC Jones, Carl Jones, Clarence Jones, Bobby Jones, Will Jones, Theodore Jones, and a brother who died in infancy; and a sister, Dorothy (Jones) Hutchinson.Corinne is survived by a brother, Frank Jones of Roswell, New Mexico; four children, Jack (Pam) Stewart of Culpeper, Virginia, Debbie (Lon) Keller of Falcon, Colorado, Denise (Jerry) Phillips of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kevin Stewart of Woodland Park, Colorado.
