I will feel his presence and think of our enduring friendship whenever I hear the gravelly voice of Johnny Cash, land a cutthroat trout or when carving a near perfect turning a powdery slope.

Uncle Steve was the best!!! He always had a big smile and hug when we would meet. I was able to see him play in the band a few times. It was so good. Most of all Steve was always there. Be it birthdays holidays or whatever the occasion. I love you Steve. Thank you for everything. Bobby

Steve was one of the first people I met when I moved to Colorado Springs in 1972 and we remained friends throughout all these years. I have many special memories of the times we were able to get together, whether it be skiing, dragging him to a company party, or watching him perform with Nuthin Fancy. I would run into him at the annual Warren Miller films at the Pikes Peak Center or skiing at Monarch, or out and about at King Soopers or elsewhere. Susan, you were his heart and I'm so thankful you were in his life these last 15 years. He was happier and more content than I had ever seen him. I'm so very sorry for this tremendous loss to you and all of his family members and friends. I'm sure there's a great concert happening in Heaven! I am blessed to have known Steve for nearly 50 years!

I will love and miss you forever. You have been in my life for 77 years, and every one of them has been an adventure. You were always the best brother even when you tried to sell me. Rest In Peace my beautiful brother.
