Obituary of ShugUing Calvin

ShugUing Calvin was born in Taipei, Taiwan on February 23, 1946, and after a brief period of complications from Covid, she departed this life on October 1, 2021. She was preceded by her parents and her two brothers.ShugUing was educated in the schools in Taipei, Taiwan and shortly thereafter met Augustus Edward Dent, Jr., while he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan.�They were married on July 5, 1969; and out of this union, they had two children, Cynthia Dent Shaw and Allen Dent. They traveled while Augustus was in the Navy and settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado until they parted ways. ShugUing met and married Burnell Calvin (lovingly called "Buzz") of Colorado on July 4, 1998, and they were married for twenty-three years. In 1999, ShugUing owned her first Yakitori restaurant. She loved cooking and gardening. She also was very proud of her extensive jewelry collection. ShugUing was a hard worker and loved to learn. Unfortunately, Buzz suffered from medical issues and passed away on September 14, 2021.ShugUing leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Cynthia (Mark) Shaw, and Allen (Maria) Dent; her four grandchildren, Neil Jr., Malcolm, Isaac, and Ayana; Buzz's grandson, Ryan Calvin; her cousin, Peipei of Taiwan; as well as a host of loved ones and friends.
