Obituary of Joycelene "Joy" Rita Waltman

Joycelene "Joy" Rita Waltman, 82, of La Junta, Colorado was called home to be with the Lord on October 12, 2021 at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born December 13, 1938 to Harvey and Marie Waldron in Hay Springs, Nebraska. Joy married James "Ben" Benjamin Waltman, March 12, 1956. They traveled the world together, while Ben served in the U.S. Air Force. Joy and Ben have called La Junta their home since 1975, after retirement. She loved the Lord and attended Valley Cowboy Church. Joy enjoyed traveling, sewing, gardening, reading history, playing cards, and dominoes. She always looked forward to family gatherings. Her favorite pastime in her later years was gaming in various states. Joy was preceded in death her loving husband of forty-six years, Ben Waltman; and her parents, Harvey Waldron and Marie Moore; She is survived by her daughters, Ra Lynne (Duane) Hendricks of Peyton, Colorado, Donnita (Billy Jack) Hawkins of Williamsburg, Colorado, and Diana Waltman of La Junta, Colorado; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Mary) Waldron of Rushville, Nebraska, David (Mary) Waldron of Chadron, Nebraska, and Leonard "Butch" (Sherry) Waldron of La Junta, Colorado; and a special cousin, Rosalie (Don) Ross, Hay Springs, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
