Obituary of James Albert Densmore
James A. "Jim" Densmore passed away October 17, 2021, he was 86.Jim was a native of Colorado Springs. Born to Wilbur L. and Gladys V. (Britt) Densmore at Saint Francis Hospital on May 5, 1935. Jim graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1953. He met the love of his life, Clara Miller, at First Christian Church. After a short engagement they were married on December 28, 1956. Jim was an amateur photographer and enjoyed taking photos of nature, the Colorado mountains, cars, and airplanes. Jim also enjoyed going to the Hill Climb on Pikes Peak and was an auto racing fan. As a family, they camped in the Colorado mountains, visited family and friends on road trips to many states and built a cabin near Divide, Colorado. Jim retired from School District eleven in 1993 after thirty years as a custodian and building manager. Jim and Clara moved to their cabin and enjoyed the mountains during his retirement years. Jim enjoyed cutting wood for winter heat, the wildlife, deer, birds, squirrels, and an occasional bear. Jim and Clara enjoyed playing cards with their close friends and neighbors. Jim was also known for making delicious toffee candy at Christmas. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands in March of 2007. His parents and his half-brother, Paul Hanks, preceded him in death. Jim is survived by his wife, Clara; their daughter, Sandra (Alan) Mowers; son, Brad (Karen) Densmore; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.Services pending.
