Obituary of Larry Arthur Winter
Larry Arthur Winter, age 73, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1984 and formerly of Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 18. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He served in the United States Army as a Tanker (Armored) where he retired in 1988. He later worked as an Operator at NCR, Atmel Corporation, and Intel in Colorado Springs.Larry A. Winter was born September 14, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to Kenneth Michael and Evelyn June Winter. He was married March 5, 1975 at Fort Knox, Kentucky to Judy Ann Winter. He was a patriot and avid supporter of our nations Veterans and our United States Military. He was also a Legionnaire of the American Legion Post 38 (Colorado). Lovingly referred to as "Pops", he always had a smile and a hug and never met a stranger. He was most known for his service to the community, participating in parades and speaking at Veterans events at schools.He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Winter; father, Kenneth Winter; and mother, Evelyn Winter; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Roach. Larry is survived by his son, Michael Winter; daughter, Christine Wilson; grandsons, Sean Wilson and Darrian Escobar-Winter; sister, Christine Heiden, numerous "adopted" grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece, Jennifer Dennis; nephew, David (Jessica) Russom; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.Graveside Service with full honors, 12:00PM, Friday, November 26, 2021, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
