Obituary of Douglas Wilson Lester
Douglas Wilson Lester a long time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away October 19, 2021, at the age of 57.He was born November 17, 1963, to Brigitte Rotraud (Manugold) and Delbert Franklin Lester in Berlin, Germany. He grew up in Germany until his eleventh year and then moved to Colorado when his father retired from the Army. He went to Wasson High School (class of 1981), he joined band in his sophomore year and played the tuba. After high school, he joined the Army for a brief time.Douglas is survived by his mother, Brigitte; sister, Christiane (Donald) Skeldum; brothers, Gary F. (Insook) Lester and Lutz W. (Katrin) Lester; nephews, Donald Jeffrey (Tori) Skeldum, Michael J. (Viviana) Skeldum, Sean Henry Lester, and Ken Austin Lester; nieces, Jana and Miri Lester of Germany, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert F. Lester; grandparents, Richard Gerhard Hildegard Helena (Apple) Manugold of Berlin, Germany, Delbert Wilson and Allene Beatrice (Tremaine) Lester of Greeley, Colorado.Douglas was an avid golfer, and he really loved playing with his nephew Michael. He was a die-hard Broncos fan, and he loved the mountains and the great outdoors.
