Obituary of Dorothy Vida Allen

Dorothy Vida Allen of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away October 22, 2021, at a local nursing facility. She was born February 25, 1934, in Spearfish, South Dakota to Leo and Florence Cooper. Dorothy graduated from Redfield High School in 1952 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Black Hills State University. She worked as an alcohol and drug abuse counselor at the Salvation Army in Colorado Springs at the time of her retirement. Dorothy was a 4-H leader and loved playing bingo, gardening, camping and spending time with her beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Miller; sons, Duane and Russell; brothers, Robert and Leo Cooper; and parents, Florence and Leo Cooper. Dorothy is survived by her children, Roxana (Bob) Coslett of Harper, Kansas, Dixie (Jeff) Herring of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Melissa Saunders of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Christopher Allen of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
