Obituary of Maj Terry A. Miller, USAF,
It is with great sadness that the family of Terry Miller, age 72, announces that he passed away peacefully in his Colorado Springs home on Sunday, October 31, 2021, after a nearly two-year battle with ALS.Terry, son of the late William and Betty (Mikesell) Miller, was born on October 5, 1949, in Elkhart, Indiana. He attended Purdue University where in 1971 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico with national engineering honors in Tau Beta Pi. He was also a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.In 1971, Terry enlisted in the United States Air Force and subsequently attended Officer Training School and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the USAF. Terry enjoyed a twenty-five-year career with the USAF retiring as a Major in 1996. After retiring from the Air Force, Terry worked for several years as a civilian contractor with Northrup Grumman, TASC and SAIC. All through his life he was an avid golfer and enjoyed birding and travel. He will be greatly missed by his wife of forty-nine years, Alana (Powell) Miller; daughters, Anne Miller and her husband, Jaime Guerrero of Pueblo, Colorado and Kerrie Underhill and her husband, Brian of Surprise, Arizona; grandson, Ethan Guerrero; brother, Robert Miller and his wife, Sandy of Valparaiso, Indiana; sisters, Linda Nichols and her husband, Steve of Keizer, Oregon and Debra Dieterlen and her husband, Don of Elkart, Indiana.Memorial donations can be made to Rocky Mountain ALS Association (webco.alsa.org)Visitation, 10:00AM - 12:00PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Masks/facial coverings required.Graveside Service, 1:00PM, Thursday, November 18, 2021, Pikes Peak National Cemetery,10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
