Obituary of Susie Mary Vinson
Susie Mary Vinson was born on August 28, 1954 in Madison, Mississippi. She was born to Ezell and Ethel Collins and was raised with her siblings Ronnie, Doris, Dorothy, Jean, Rosemary, and Eddie. Susie studied nursing and graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 1978. She entered into God's glory on the morning of November 6, 2021 while in the presence of her family in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent the majority of her career working in childcare. After over twenty years, she eventually transitioned into logistics transportation, a new career to which she quickly adapted and came to love. In April of 2021, Susie retired and spent her days spending time with her family and doing the things she loved most such as cooking, writing, and reading. Susie was an active member of the United States Air Force Academy Community Center Chapel and their women's group. She was often one of the first faces that greeted church members and visitors alike as the usher. Susie always made everyone feel welcomed and ensured that every need was always met. She faithfully attended birthday luncheons, prayer groups, retreats, and home visits. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Willie Anna Boyd; her father, Ezell Timothy Collins; and her mother, Ethel Mary Collins. Susie is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Candace; her son, William; her daughter-in-law, Noelle; her grandchildren, Raqy'al and A'sa; her siblings, Ronnie, Doris, Dorothy, Jean, Rosemary, and Eddie; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. So He put His arms around youAnd whispered, "Come with Me."With tearful eyes we watched youAnd saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearlyWe could not make you stay.
