Obituary of Martin "Marty" Evert Haines

Martin "Marty" Evert Haines, 62, passed away November 22, 2021 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on October 10, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona. Marty was the youngest of six children of Edward Everett and Ida Virginia Haines. His siblings were from oldest to youngest, Patricia, Deborah, Barb, Edward, Jr., and Beth, they lived in Maryvale, Arizona until 1970 then the family moved to Goodyear, Arizona where they had horses and property. Marty began working at Price club (which merged with Costco in 1993) in 1978. While working at price club he met Celia Converse in 1979, his wife of twenty-five years and the mother of his children Amber and Megan who they also raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He aspired to be a Phoenix firefighter for several years and became a certified EMT. Marty loved to take his family on fun adventures like crazy four-wheel drive road trips, camping, fishing, and boathouse vacations on Lake Powell. He loved the outdoors and fishing, playing horseshoes and just in general having a good time with friends and family. Marty was a very supportive father he would always help out his girls with any emergency that might arise especially the many times they had vehicle breakdown growing up. He helped to support both Amber and Megan while they attended college and was always there when they would need anything at all, even groceries from all his bulk shopping from Costco. In 2008 Megan joined the Army and Marty was there at her basic training graduation to show his love and support. In 2013 Marty and Amber decided to join Megan in Colorado once he got the news of a grandson on the way. Clyde was very special to Marty, who he decided to name Peepop. His last few years Clyde's Fridays off school became a special day for them to hang out, usually having fun at the trampoline park or mini golfing. Marty also had a love for his Scottish heritage and had a lot of fun doing medieval reenactment with Amber through the SCA at Battlemore which he couldn't wait to go back to again. He also loved his dogs, Zoey and Rollo so much as well as his many grand dogs through the years. Marty was a man who could light up a room with not only his smile but his eyes. He had a huge heart and will be missed by many many people. He was truly a guardian angel on earth to his daughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Haines; and mother, Ida Virginia Haines; and sister, Patricia Hulsey. As well as many very loved pets throughout the years.Marty is survived by his daughters, Amber Haines and Megan Morgan; grandson, Clyde Morgan; sons-in-law, Frank Morgan and Jarett Payne; step great-grandchildren, Zeke and Marci.
