Obituary of Elsie C. Taylor

Elsie Taylor a Colorado Springs resident since 1993, passed away at St. Francis Nursing Facility on November 28, 2021.Elsie was born April 3, 1923 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was employed at Joslin's now Dillard's Stores for thirty years as a Merchandise Manager. Elsie later was asked to open the Estee Lauder product line for Joslin's stores and served as the manager for fifteen years. She married Helvey Alan Taylor on June 20, 1945 in Pueblo, Colorado and shared only twenty-one years of marriage. Elsie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Helvey; and her parents, Joseph and Angela Mismash. She was also preceded in death are her three sisters, Josephine Dionese, Virginia Russ, and Gladys Hambalik.Elsie is survived by her son, John; daughter-in-law, Peggy; and their three married children, Janelle Foltz, Jon Michael Taylor, and Jaclyn Jones. As well as two grandchildren, Eden and Jackson. Some words and descriptions from Elsie's son,Elsie was physically a beautiful woman. But she was not a fragile or delicate woman she was a tough "Bo John." For those who do not know, that means that her family blood line was from the old Yugoslavia modern day Slovenia. Tough as nails! She was not afraid to take on anyone or anything. She would tell the stories of when she was a little girl and would fight with the bullies (male or female) in her school and neighborhood, and always won the fight. She also told stories of how she would take on bosses and other employees that she worked with that were being unfair to her or others. The bosses usually apologized to her! When she was married, she managed a full-time job and took care of her sick husband and raised a crazy teenage boy. Her biggest downfall was that she was very prideful and would not ask for help from outside organizations. You didn't do that in her day.Elsie loved her grandchildren, Janelle, Jon, and Jaclyn, and being part of their lives and giving them guidance even if they didn't want it. For over twenty-five years she lived with John and Peggy and was part of all the family actives. She was a very opinionated person, a strong believer in family first and a fighter for what she believed was right. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior later in life and will be remembered reading her bible or listening to Christian music by Jimmy Swaggart. She would of course give you her strong opinion on what you should listen to and what you needed to do according to the Bible. Her unfailing love will be missed!Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Inurnment, Roselawn Cemetery, 1706 Roselawn Road, Pueblo, Colorado 81006.
