Graveside Service/Message/Comments: Song: "God Bless America" Revelation 21:4 "4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." John 14:1-3 "1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 "13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words." Jack will surely be missed, but absolutely will not be forgotten. There is no easy way to lose a loved one. Whether they pass away unexpectedly, or you knew for a while the time of their passing was anytime now. There is no easy way to lose a loved one. Today we commit Jack back into the hands of the LORD from whence he came. Man was taken from dust and to dust he will return (Genesis 3:19). To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD (2 Corinthians 5:8). POEM: When I am gone, release me, and let me go I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had this many years. I gave you my love. You can only guess How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled on alone. So, grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while we must part. So, bless the memories that lie within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call on the One to whom I've gone And I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me, In memory I'll be near And if you listen with your heart, You will hear All my love around you, soft and clear. And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and "welcome home." Song: "Nail Scarred Hands" Closing Prayer

Dad On behalf of my Mother and my whole family, I'd like to thank all of you for joining us to celebrate my Father, Jack Estes. As you all know, my Dad was a man of few words, although he got chattier in later years. His words were often reserved for his dry and sometimes silly humor, encouragement and expressions of friendship and love. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit his penchant for listening over speaking (or typing) but I promise to make this brief. As children our parents teach us just about everything, somethings we promptly forget, some we out right reject (until we grow older and learn to value the wisdom) and some we hold fast to our hearts as we recognize them to be fundamentals by which we should live. My Dad imparted many such gifts upon my siblings and I, somethings not so much in words as in deeds and how he lived his life. A thirst for knowledge, curiosity, love of nature, desire to see the world and a sense of humor. Respect for all, great kindness and gentle humility. The greatest gift, however, that my Dad, both our parents, imparted on us is love in all its intricate complexities: devotion, steadfastness, patience, compassion and enduring enjoy among others. This is my Father's greatest legacy, his tremendous capacity to love, shared infinitely and tenderly with my Mom, given unlimited and sustaining to us his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and to all of you, his friends and family. We love you Dad.

Gramps! I love how he always had a smile and a kind word, and I'm so happy that I have so many wonderful memories with him and grandma. He always told me to keep peddling around heheh. That was our little inside joke. We could both just sit beside each other and smile and make each other laugh. I have always felt like no one was as cool and classy and happy as gramps and I'm thankful for all the times I spent with him.

Linda Koopman I had met Jack and Grace through Rebecca while I was living in Hawaii. We had many fun days then. Later Rebecca and I lived in their home in Colorado Springs where I got to know them better. I enjoyed their adventuresome spirit, traipsing here and there. I think Grace was the prime mover and Jack went along for the ride. I knew them both to be kind and devoted to each other. Thankfully, we know Jack is enjoying many new adventures with His Lord. I pray the Lord will continue to fill your life Grace as you await the time you will see each other again. Many blessings.

Growing up, I always loved when we would meet up with grandpa and grandma when they were in their RV. I dreamed about traveling far and wide, and living lots of exciting places like grandpa had. His sense of adventure, enjoyment of nature, and curiosity about new places inspired me, and shaped my own life journey. He was so kind, and had the most wonderful, goofy sense of humor. I'm so grateful for having him in my life.

I count myself lucky to have spent so much time with "gramps". I have so many memories over nearly 50 years of spending time with him fishing, playing games, playing at the beach, on road trips in grandma and grampa's camper and so many more. He was kind, gentle and patient and one of the best role models I have in my life for how to treat others. I also attribute much of my own love of the outdoors to him and grandma taking us to places like the Monarch Ponds and the Cottonwood Cabins where I didn't fish much but explored the surrounding mountains. I am also happy that my own children got know him and spend time with him in Arizona and Colorado. We will miss him greatly.

Jack Estes is my dad. I am the middle child and first born girl. A real daddy's girl. My entire life I have looked up to my dad and adored him more than anybody. I knew this day was going to come and I thought I was prepared but you can't really prepare yourself to lose someone so vital as my dad. My mind is flooded with memories. I had a happy childhood. Loving, Christian parents, siblings who are just awesome. My own children were fortunate to spend many happy hours with my Mom and Dad. We even went on a trip in an RV with them from Colorado to upstate New York and back. Not one of us thought this trip with 3 generations was going to be easy but it is actually a favorite memory for all of us. That was the trip my parents earned their nicknames of the Grand-doggies. We had so much fun and shared so many laughs. All thru my childhood and teen years just about any time Dad had off from work, our band of gypsies piled into the station wagon or RV or MiniVan and saw the country. In Europe we traveled to any country bordering Italy and beyond. In the US we traveled to countless states, numerous state and national parks. Hundreds of campsites. We usually brought a friend or two along. Every single trip was fun. Dad had a dry sense of humor. We in the family knew when he was joking but many of our friends were not sure at first. We would always anticipate what outrageous thing he would scare them with. I can't ever remember Dad not seeing the best in people, in life, in us, in my Mom. He loved God and I am glad that he is with his Lord and Savior. Though I have a hole in my life without him physically here, I know I will see him again when my time comes. I know he is with my two brothers and my son who preceded him. And he is waiting for the rest of us. Dad, I love you and always will. Today I laughed thinking of how for 50+ years if you passed gas, you never failed to blame it on our first dog, Honey.

I asked my Dad one day what his best day was. He said, with no hesitation or forethought, "Marrying your mother". Then I asked him what his worst day was.He said, also with no hesitation, " It hasn't happened yet." Another day I saw my Dad just sitting at the edge of his bed. I asked him what he was doing and he replied, "I'm praying for your mother." I think these two examples encapsulates who my father was in the deepest recesses of his heart.
