Went 4 wheelin' with Jerry, Melissa, Quinn, bro Eric and others, and we all had sooo much fun blasting through this little creek, that we had to go back and do it over and over.....then the bantering between Eric and Jerry as to taking that excruciating 50 yard hike hike "over" to the lake.....Jerry making the movie exposing Doug's fear of chipmunks, so many great Fall fishing trips with the fam!!! miss you man

I worked with Jerry for a short time at Cornella Brothers and got to know him decently well as he was just a great character to be around. I enjoyed his ups and downs as nobody was perfect, he shared many things to me as new friend in his life and coworker. Blessings and my condolences to the Hoepner Family. -Jeremiah A

I met Jerry when I started as a temp at Cornella Brothers in 2015. I was very nervous and, among the great employees that I met, Jerry was always bright and welcoming. I am forever the pessimist, and during the time that I worked with him, he always brought a positive energy into the office. I enjoyed that and it inspired me to force myself to have a better day. He had plenty of stories, and how he always popped into my office to say: "hey, it's not Halloween for (x amount of) months!" I always thought that it was incredible that he carried around multiple notebooks, and would stop by my desk like "omg I got a new notebook!" I was so impressed by that; I also have many notebooks filled with curious thoughts. The glutton in me was crazy about how he sold me a butt ton of thin mints every February on his daughter's behalf, and always let me pay after payday came around. I remember a time when I told him that I was getting crap for my son's long hair, and he showed me a photo of his super adorable nephew who also had long, gorgeous locks. One of the last times I was around him, he told me that he loved my hair, but I should use fun wigs like his wife so I could change it every week! I wasn't family, but I have great memories of Jerry that I will always love. Jerry was wonderful to work with, and I was very sad to hear of his passing. When I told my husband about it (because I had cried), he asked me if Jerry was a good person. I told him: "one of the best." I cannot imagine the pain his family is experiencing, but I want them to know that he spread his positivity through even my chronically depressed heart. I wish them peace in knowing that they will see him again in heaven & continue to be amazing together.

Jerry, his wife and I / my wife met when I was commencing a new Rocky Mountain Calvary Small Group in Colorado Springs in 2009 is when I remember it starting. We also attended Men's Bible Studies together. We often talked after Men's Bible Study, just standing in the church parking lot before going over to the adjacent restaurant to grab a bite with the other guys. Jerry always wanted to be a pilot, and I seem to remember he did fly a bit in the past, so we got along right off the proverbial bat! I got hired training pilots for the USAF in simulators down in Texas in July 2012 and, prior to that departure, I prayed for wisdom to select a leader for the small group. God really put Jerry on my mind. I though he had excellent leadership qualities: God-focused, Disciple of Jesus Christ, truly, faithful, determined, loyal, met commitments, etc.; both he and his wife, whom we also love! Additionally, he was always quite gregarious; outgoing, friendly, always had a smile for everyone! He genuinely cared for people. I asked him; he declined the first few times. :-) He tried to tell me he wasn't leadership; I disagreed. :-) You just had to know Jerry ... that huge grin, that 'I just wanna be here with the body of Christ guys' ... but inside of Jerry, if you really listened, he was intensely and radically identified with Jesus Christ! I will miss him and yet I know that we shall meet in Heaven! Here on earth we still have the tribulations my old friend, but alas, you are now with the Lord who has overcome it all! The ultimate healing for the Christian is reunification with Our Lord Jesus. I love you, Jerry; always did, always will. The picture is of our family when ours and Jerry's were together. We lived in Colorado Springs and had two sons in the USAF Academy, etc.

I remember when I met Jerry, he was so welcoming to me as a "cousin" to the Hoepner family. I was truly floored by his spirit of accepting me eve. Though he'd only just met me. All of you were welcoming in that regard. If not for Kris' gift to me, I would not have had the opportunity to know what an amazing and big hearted guy Jerry was in life.
