Obituary of Robert Ralph Karney

Robert "Bob" Ralph Karney, 89, of Falcon, Colorado passed away January 3, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born July 21, 1932 to Dennis Roland and Ruth Cleone Karney in Swink, Colorado.Robert worked as a sheet metal worker (HVAC) for Heating and Plumbing Engineers for thirty-six years. He was also a gold card member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. Robert was recognized for achieving sixty years of continuous good standing service with the sheet metal association.He enjoyed rodeoing with his sons and following his grandchildren's sporting events and rodeo activities. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly.He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Ruth Karney; brother, William "Bill" Karney; and his sister, Katherine Maher.Robert is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Tim) Carey of Kinsley, Kansas; sons, R.D. Karney of Wickenburg, Arizona and Kurt Karney of Falcon, Colorado; grandchildren, Jaimie (Taylor) Hobbs of Kinsley, Kansas, Riane Carey, Kameron Carey, and Kobe Carey all of Kinsley, Kansas, Lane (Jane) Karney of Creston, California, and Taylor Karney of Stevenville, Texas; great-granddaughter, Lainey Hobbs of Kinsley, Kansas and another great-granddaughter on the way; as well as his brother, Russell (Mary Lou) Karney of La Junta, Colorado.Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Thursday, January 27, 2022, Latigo Trails Equestrian Center, 13710 Halleluiah Trail, Elbert, Colorado 80106.Graveside Service, 11:00AM, Friday, January 28, 2022, Fairview Cemetery, 402 Potter Drive, La Junta, Colorado 81050.Memorial contributions can be made to Parkinson Association of the Rockies (parkinsonrockies.org).Robert will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
