Obituary of Janet Patricia Boutilier

Janet P. "Cloudwalker" Boutilier, 89, longtime resident of Manitou Springs, passed away January 11, 2022. Janet, or "Jan" as most know her, was born September 4, 1932 to O'Dell H. Dennison and Violet T. (Steward) Dennison in Maine. After graduating high school, she married, and over the course of time, settled in Manitou Springs in 1967 with her husband and two daughters. She worked for fourteen years at the Broadmoor Golf Club, and then went on to work for many years at the Garden of the Gods Club and Kissing Camels Club until she retired in 2000. It is hard to imagine anyone loving the Garden of the Gods Park more the Jan. She would walk from her home in Manitou to work and often times back home enjoying the abundant, ever changing beauty and perfecting her photography skills. Jan had a profound love of music and animals. She collected music from artists of nearly every genre. Her home was never complete without pets. She was a longtime supporter of animal rescues and wildlife conservation organizations. Janet touched the lives of many, and those that knew her will never forget her. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Linwood Dennison, and Gary Dennison; and her former husband, Russell Boutilier. Janet is survived by her daughters, Robin Boutilier, and Toni (Gene) Gardner; and brother, Robert Dennison. A celebration of life for family and friends is planned for a future date to be determined. Memorial donations in Jan's memory may be made to Happy Cats Haven of Manitou Springs (happycatshaven.org), Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (seashepherd.org), or the World Wildlife Fund (worldwildlife.org).
