Obituary of Ruth Ann Witter

The family of Ruth A. (Biggart) Witter sadly announces her passing from this life on January 11, 2022. Ruth was born on May 7, 1932 to Florence and Dwight "Jake" Biggart in West Des Moines, Iowa. Having grown up there, she graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1950 and resided in Colorado Springs since 1966.Ruth cherished attending numerous annual family gatherings, and her large family was always her priority. She enjoyed music, most specifically Blues and Classical. She loved and kept up with all current events and could debate politics with the best of them. Ruth loved listening to her police scanner in her younger years and volunteered for many years at the Crimestoppers Program at the Police Department. Some of her other past times were playing bingo, reading, and completing computer crossword puzzles.Ruth is preceded in death by her great grandson Anthony Witter LaTour, great granddaughter Samantha Borini, daughter Kathleen Borini, grandson Shawn Borini, and granddaughter Nichole Witter. She is survived by her sons Richard G. and Mark A. (Sandy) Witter; as well as her daughter, Mary "Theresa" (Witter) Criswell.Ruth's large extended family consists of 12 grandchildren, their spouses, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A celebration of Ruth's life will be held in the Spring of 2022. The family asks in lieu of flowers make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a non-profit of your choice.
