Obituary of Elizabeth "Liz" Ruth Rael

Elizabeth Ruth Rael was born October 18, 1953 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Benjamin Jess and Charlotte Lois (Aune) Rhoades. She grew up in Underwood, Minnesota. Liz was the oldest child and only daughter and has three brothers, James, Peter, and Paul.Liz received her formal education at Moorhead State University, Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She graduated from college in 1975. Liz moved to Fargo, North Dakota which is where she met and fell in love with Steve Rael, Jr., Steve and Elizabeth were pronounced husband and wife on August 28, 1982. (the coldest august to date). They were married for 39 wonderful years and had the privilege to raise two beautiful daughters together, Chloe (Jeremy) Wolski and Phoebe (Joshua) Gornick.Elizabeth was the Founder and General Manager at Whispering Winds Farm. Some of her favorite activities revolved around horses, and made many memories with her Palomino, Tate. Riding him, showing him, going on trail rides with him, and mostly just loving on him by grooming him and grazing him. She loved camping and hiking and bringing her dog Augustus "Gus" along too. Liz also loved reading, watching the sunsets from her front porch, worshipping the Lord, and Bible study. She loved being a part of the fellowship at her home church, at Calvary Worship Center and her love for the Lord was evident.Elizabeth Ruth Rael, 68, went home to be with the Lord, February 2, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We remember Liz's legacy and reflect on her wonderful life and all that the Lord has done in and through her. We rejoice in knowing that she is home with Jesus and that we will someday be reunited with her.
