Obituary of Roger Allen Andersen

Roger Allen Andersen, age 74, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on February 6, 2022.He was born in Atlantic, Iowa on June 26, 1947 to Kristian Adolf and Inez Anne Andersen.He graduated from Exira High School in 1965, then joined the U.S. Army. His basic training was at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was then stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a clerk in the Army until he was honorably discharged.Roger is survived by Isabelle, his wife of fifty years; his children, Laura Andersen (William Nelson) of Colorado Springs in Colorado, Johanna McRoberts (Darrell) of Castle Rock in Colorado, Paul Andersen (Yvette) of Fountain in Colorado, and Andrew Andersen (Lora) of Colorado Springs in Colorado. Roger's grandchildren are Gloriana (Maurisio), Tyler, Christian (Brianna), Gabriella, Xavier, Nathaniel, and Mia. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Ernesto, Alaina, Alexandria, Anaya, Junior, Aaliyah, Angel and Eliana. He is also survived by one brother, Kenneth Andersen (Coretta) of Treynor, Iowa. Roger is also survived by numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, and nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.Roger was preceded in death by his father and mother; two of his brothers, Wayne and Terry. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan; and a great granddaughter, Analecia. Roger (Papa's) greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No matter what he loved being involved in their lives, and each child knew how special they were to him. The family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support and prayers during this difficult time.
