Obituary of Sheila Quinlan Egan

Sheila Quinlan Egan, 85, passed away on February 12, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was one of seven children born to John Richard and Mary Genevieve (Wells) Quinlan in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She graduated from New Richmond High School and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Sheila was married first to OJ King, Jr. in 1970, then to Thomas J. Egan in 1991.Sheila was Director of Medical Record Administration at Memorial and Penrose Hospitals. She also worked at the U.S. Army Hospitals in Augsburg, Germany and Fort Carson, Colorado. She was appointed the European Medical Command Medical Records Consultant to the U.S. Hospital in Vicenza, Italy. Sheila was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Over the years she belonged to the LeCeile Irish Club, Stratmoor Hills HOA, the American Association of University Women, and served three terms as President of Medical Records Association. Sheila was a volunteer at the Colorado Springs Humane Society and the Colorado Springs Police Department. She also conducted local history tours for St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Egan loved dogs, reading, and European travel.Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.She is survived by her most cherished husband, Tom Egan and their dog, Remi. Other immediate survivors are her nephews, Joseph LaBat and David LaBat. She is also survived by her sons, Patrick, Robert, David, Thomas, and Richard Egan. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.A Memorial Mass, 11:00AM, Thursday, March 17, 2022, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905. Inurnment will be at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a later date.Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Free Home for Cancer Patients, 2076 St Anthony, St. Paul, Minnesota, 55410.
