Obituary of Virgil Walter Sterry

Virgil Walter Sterry, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on March 18, 2022. He was born October 17, 1948 to Virgil F. and Catherine (Cutler) Sterry in Bloomington, Minnesota. Virgil attended Anoka Sr. High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, Virgil enlisted in the U.S. Army, which he retired from after twenty years of service. Virgil was known to volunteer within his community for the Girl Scouts, and at his church.�Virgil is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara; his son, Virgil (Tracy) Sterry; his daughter, Amidon (Jason) Schar. He was the proud grandfather of: Jared and Audrey Sterry, Xander and Alaina Schar, and great grandfather to Connor Sterry. He is also survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil F. Sterry, mother, Catherine I.
