Obituary of James Wallace Banks

James Wallace Banks, 78, was born August 17, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma and died March 25, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. James had several occupations and interests during his life, including Army National Guard, machinist, hunting, camping, spending time at the family cabin, etc, but his passion was ministry, specifically to the Deaf. He and his wife, Ramona, ministered to the Deaf from 1963 until his death. They were Home Missionaries of the Assemblies of God from May 21,1968, in Oklahoma until he was appointed the National Representative of the Deaf, Blind and Handicapped Ministries around 1976 which required them to move to Springfield, Missouri. He served in this position until 1989 when he and his wife were reappointed U.S. Intercultural Missionaries to the Deaf, and relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they planted Radiant Deaf Ministries.He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Wallace Banks and Emma Lee (Copeland) Banks; and his brother, Hershel Lee (Cotton) Banks.He is survived by his wife, Ramona Gail (Vance) Banks, of the home; his daughter, Robbie Michelle Black and her husband Erick of Franktown, Colorado; his son, Justin Wallace Banks and his wife Heather of Mapleton, Utah; his daughter, Amee Marie Campbell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his sister, Jessie Faye Banks of Pueblo Colorado.
