She moved with her parents throughout Colorado stopping at Julesburg, and Pagosa Springs, and finally landing in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado as her parents pursued their calling as the Owner and Editor for the Cheyenne Wells Record newspaper. While working for Western Union, she met Gene Reynolds, and they married in 1966. She had a fulfilling career as a copy editor at the Denver Post newspaper until her much deserved retirement. LaRetta loved to read, rarely watched television programming, and loved to travel. She was very fond of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed in their successes as their parents wrote of how proud they were of them. She always sent floral arrangements to her siblings' families at Christmas and each one looked forward to them adorning the dinner table. She was a social person and had a beautiful smile. She loved attending and helped plan her high school class reunions for several years, it was a party atmosphere, and they all had a great time getting together.
