Obituary of Michael Matta Maes

Michael Matta Maes, 38, died on April 10, 2022 in Fountain Colorado.He was born on October 18, 1983 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Michael worked as a meat manager for Albertson in Pueblo for eighteen years. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joe and Florence Maes, Gilbert and Aida Orosco; uncle, Marvin Maes; godfather, Max Archuleta; and numerous other family membersMichael is survived by his mother, Theresa Maes (Frank); wife, Megan Romero; daughters, Marcellina, Analysia, Elaena, and Aaliyah Maes; sons, Silviano and Nathanial Maes; sister, Jennifer (Ricardo) Baeza; brothers, Joe Frank Maes, Caiden Orosco; nephews, Jesus Baeza and Santiago Maes; niece, Thalia Baeza; and parent-in-laws, James and Betty Romero. Michael was a hardworking and loving soul who would give everything he had to make his family smile. He devoted his life to his children and is one of the best fathers any child could have. No matter what was going on in the world around them, all they knew was the peace and love they had at home with him. He walked through hard times with his mother who he loves dearly and regardless of the situations he protected and supported her. Mike took long fishing trips with his brother and enjoyed every minute of their long talks and memories of the hanging out with cousins and friends when they were younger. His sister adored him because of the huge heart he has and all she knew was he was there to protect her from everything. Mike was so excited for this upcoming wedding and could not wait to marry the love of his life. He often talked about how they would buy their new home together and how the pet pig he wanted to buy would be running around all the kids. Mike loved watching his Denver Broncos and did not mind talking smack to anyone who did not agree. Mike touched many lives and many hearts with his silly personality and his loyalty to his friends and family. There are no words to explain losing him and he will stay in the hearts of all who knew him.
