Obituary of Nicolle LaJean Parmentier

Nicolle LaJean Parmentier, 58, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on April 29, 2022 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. She was born on February 9, 1964 to Henri and Shirley (Peter) Parmentier in Chicago, Illinois. Nicolle attended Doherty High School, and graduated in 1982, where she played flute in the band program. She also played trumpet in SkyRyders, and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. She worked as a cosmetologist after high school and then attended college at the University of Southern Colorado, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Secondary Science Education. She taught kindergarten in Simla, Colorado, and third to fourth grade in Karval, Colorado for several years. She later taught high school science at Karval Online School. Nicolle was an advocate for puppy mill dogs and rescued/fostered many of them in her home. In her spare time, she loved to sew dog accessories such as coats, costumes, and belly bands/diapers. She has sold or donated hundreds of them! She also was handy with tools, which started at the age of 12 when she built her own soap box derby car and won her local race, qualifying her to compete at nationals in Akron, Ohio. Since then, she has done many projects, including building a bird aviary, outdoor brick fireplace, patio, wood flooring, and a deck. She attended Village 7 Presbyterian Church for many years and relied on her faith for comfort and peace, especially while suffering with cancer. Nicolle will be remembered for her huge smile, generosity, fun-loving spirit and enthusiasm for life.Nicolle is survived by her siblings, Michelle (Gene) Koepke, Daniel (Carla) Parmentier, Lynette Parmentier, Briana (Daniel) Rodriguez, and Trevor (Alexis) Parmentier; nieces and nephews, Riley, Audrey, Savannah, Joshua, and Aisley.
