Obituary
Obituary of Zachary Ryan Andis
Zachary Ryan Andis, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2022 at the age of 30. Zach was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on December 12, 1991.As a military dependent, he lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Okinawa, Japan before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, Rudy Elementary, Jenkins Middle School and graduated from Doherty High School in 2009. Music was Zach's passion. He loved 70s and 80s rock and modern country. He often talked about music with his mom, especially regarding their mutual love of hard rock and heavy metal. He would send her texts asking, "Mom do you remember this song as a kid?" Zach had an ear for music and could hear a song for the first time and within a few hours strum through the song on his guitar. He also enjoyed playing the drums and would spend hours with a set of drumsticks in his hands. Zach was able to feed his hunger for music by working as a bouncer at the Black Sheep. There he saw several great artists and even had an after-concert game of "Skate" with Jesse Hasek, lead singer of the rock band 10 YearsJesse won.Zach worked at Affordable Services, Black Sheep, Rocco's, HuHot, and most recently Colorado Springs Winnelson where he formed his second family. He started as a delivery driver, then worked in the warehouse before becoming the warehouse manager. Zach took great pride in his work and worked hard; a trait he inherited from his dad. He enjoyed down time with his work family and formed great relationships with his new brothers; Josh, Brando, Jeff "Boss Man", The Chad, Marky Mark and Will. He had a great love for animals and always had time for his four-legged friends. His cat, Petals, took on his personality; quiet, reserved, and patiently waiting for the hugs to begin.Zach enjoyed working on cars and small engines. He built a motorized bicycle, replaced the transmission on his VW Rabbit, spent countless hours on his Porsche, and helped his brother, Kyler, prep the "GI GEO" car for the Rambler 500 car race in Cripple Creek, which they did together. He also enjoyed camping and snowboarding with family and friends, working on projects around his mom's or dad's place, and spending time with his brother. Zach always had a big smile for Kyler and each time they got together, Kyler would jump completely in his arms leaving Zach to support his brother's full weight. As a Christian, Zach prayed and spoke to his mom about God as he explored his Christian journey. He was a quiet individual and had a great ability to connect with others. Zach was a loving son, brother, and friend. Although his physical presence is gone, his spirit will live inside us forever. Safe journeys our son, until we meet again.Zach is survived by his mother, Susan; father, Dennis; second mother, Diane; brothers, Kyler and Dennis; sister, Lisa; God parents, John and Vangie Ruscio; and grandmother, Jacquie Miles. He comes from an extended family to include sisters, Carrie, Shauna, Katherine; brother, Josh; and grandfather, Jerry Truitt. For those who would like to pay their respects, the family will host an informal Celebration of Life, 3:00PM-7:00PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Fox Run Regional Park, 2110 Stella Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921, Pavilion #2.
