Obituary of Jan Elizabeth Willey

Jan Elizabeth Willey, passed quietly into eternity in the early morning hours of May 14,�2022,�at St. Francis Medical Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jan was born April 20,�1954�to United States Air Force parents at Keesler Medical Center, Biloxi, Mississippi, where her father was serving his first military assignment. After moving ten times with her family including three times overseas, she arrived in Colorado Springs where she finished high school at Mitchell High and then attended Colorado State University. There she met her future husband Kenneth Willey, and had their daughter, Jennifer. After his sudden death, Jan and her daughter moved back Colorado Springs where she was employed as a Purchaser for Penrose Medical Center for fourteen years. She retired from this position when she went on disability. Jan was involved with the Divine Redeemer Perish and enjoyed her (many) pets as well as family activities, watching the Food Channel, reading and baking.�Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth S. Willey, Jr.; and her father, Merl E. Sayers. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer M. Willey; granddaughter, Rachel E. Willey both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother, Margaret J. Sayers; her brother, Dr. Robert E. (Sherry) Sayers of Monument, Colorado; her niece, Amy C. (Jamie) Peters; grandnieces and nephews, Jace, Jaren, Jude, Matthew, Zoe and Charis of Leadville, Colorado; her nephews, David R. (Sarah Reynolds-Sayers) Sayers; grandniece, Eliza of North Bethesda, Maryland; and nephew, Timothy E. Sayers of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.�Jan held animals and pets close to her heart and any memorial contribution can be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (https://www.hsppr.org/).�The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the Emergency Room personnel and the doctors and nurses of St. Francis Medical Center for the multiple times they provided lifesaving and extensive care over the years to Jan and their compassionate care at the end of her life.�Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Columbine Glen, The Church at Woodmoor, 18125 Furrow Road, Monument, Colorado 80132.
