Obituary of Levi Virgil Roybal

Levi V. Roybal, 86, of Colorado Springs, Colorado went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2022, in Colorado Springs. He was born June 26, 1935, to Bentura and Eufelia (Atencio) Roybal in Chama, Colorado. Although Levi was born in Chama, he was raised in San Pedro, Colorado. He attended Mercy High Catholic School in San Luis, Colorado. After high school, he worked on the railroad in Wyoming then met and married his wife, Joan in San Luis. He was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army then later in the Reserves. After the military, they moved to Colorado Springs, where they would raise their family. He worked at the Air Force Academy, NORAD, then as a Procurement Manager for Peterson Air Force Base for thirty-five years where he received numerous service awards during his career. Levi enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos, watching classic television shows and especially his "Cowboys". He enjoyed dancing (one of the very best!) playing Bingo, cards, Cripple Creek, working in his yard, and morning coffee with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his family. He was extremely generous and giving. If it was his to give, then it was yours. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bentura and Eufelia; brothers, Louis and Ben; sister, Wilma; granddaughter, Jennifer; and grandson, Dwayne.Levi is survived by his wife, Joan of sixty-five years; son, Randy (Kim); and daughters, Debbie (Henry), and Annette (Robert); grandchildren, Jason (Kelly), Brandon (Krista), Amber, Jessica (Ronald), Anthony, Jacob, and Michael; great grandchildren, Jackson, Isabella, Aubreyanna, Levi, Sierra, Jayda, Carter, Zane, and Emma; siblings, Mercy (Art) Johnson, Juanita (Tom) Abeyta, and Ernest Roybal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Dad is now rejoicing with Jesus and has no more pain or worry. We are certain he is at peace and surrounded with his family and friends in heaven. The family would like to extend their gratitude to First Light Home Healthcare and Pikes Peak Hospice.
