Obituary of Bernice Harvey Gosnell

Daughter, sister, wife, friend, grandma, Mom, aka, Bernice Harvey Gosnell was born in her grandma's house in Trenton, Nebraska on February 28, 1934. After her mom passed away when she was 2, she lived with her maternal grandparents until they passed. Then, she moved in with her, "Daddy," as she lovingly referred to him. After she graduated from high school, she started her pursuit to be a teacher. Along the way she met Lyle E. Harvey, whom she married on May 25, 1956. In October of 1958, Rex, their first son was born whom later married Jackie. A couple of years later, Coy joined the party, being born in November of 1960, then, finally Max joined our family in June of 1963, whom later married Jennifer. After Lyle got out of the army, Bernice continued her endeavor to become a teacher. We moved to Colorado Springs in July of 1970, where she taught third grade in Widefield, Colorado. Tragically, Lyle suddenly passed away in September of 1974. Her hardworking and loving upbringing gave her the strength to take the lead and raise her three sons. Mom made sure that she attended all of our football and baseball games. Two years later, she met and dated Howard "Brownie" Brown for 4 years. Then, he suddenly passed as well. She then met Charley Gosnell a couple of years later, and were married for 34 wonderful years. Along with Charley came his children Tim and Annette. Mom and Charley loved having their grandchildren over for dinner, going boating, having sleep overs, and breaking bread. They enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family. Charley passed away 6 years ago. Mom lived by herself at Bonaventure Senior Living, where she easily made new and dear friends until her death on May 22, 2022.As her life began to wind down and the end was near, Mom's spirit, fight, and personality continued to show through. It has been comforting and helped bring peace to us all as we working through the grieving process to hear kind words spoken about Mom. After 88 years on earth as a mortal, she is now rejoicing with the angels in the presence of the Lord, rest in peace, rejoice that she is with the Lord and with family and friends who have passed before her. Until we meet again, we will love and miss you,Love, Your BoysUpon Mom's request, she asked that if you'd like to contribute so a charity on her behalf, that you would donate to the Shriners (https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/).
