Obituary of Jane Adelaide Sheehan
Jane Adelaide Sheehan passed away June 4, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born February 10, 1937 to Thomas and Adelaide Madden in Cambridge, Massachusetts.Jane attended Reading High School in Massachusetts and graduated in 1954.Jane worked as a Department of the Air Force civil servant at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts where she met her future husband, John Sheehan, in 1959. She was a proud Air Force spouse and devoted mother, who first moved to Colorado Springs in 1961. In her later years she had a successful real estate career, garnering many friends and associates. She was active with several Catholic school programs, the Retired Enlisted Association Auxiliary, and the Blue Star Mothers organization in the Colorado Springs area. An avid traveler, she and John visited most of the United States and Europe. Together they explored nearly every part of Colorado, with numerous memorable trips to Vail and Breckenridge.Always the competitor, she loved playing cards, board games, the occasional gambling in Cripple Creek, bowling, crossword puzzles and all forms of trivia games, especially with a glass of wine. A devoted sports fan, she actively cheered for all of her New England sports teams�when they were good! Her true love was always cheering for her own children and grandchildren participating in numerous athletic and academic competitions and endeavors. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Adelaide; son, Joseph; brother, Thomas Madden; and grandsons, Curtis and Avery Kernkamp.Jane is survived by her husband, CMSgt John Sheehan, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, with whom she would've shared their sixty-second wedding anniversary seven days after her death; daughters, Maureen (Timothy) Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia and Melinda Sheehan of Parker, Colorado; sons, COL Thomas (Robin) Sheehan, U.S. Army, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Timothy (Heather) Sheehan of Olathe, Kansas; brother, Richard Madden of Milton, Washington; granddaughters, Hillary and Lauren Kuklenski, and Ashley Sheehan; grandsons, Hunter and Hayden Sheehan, Jeffrey Kernkamp, and Jack Sheehan; goddaughter, Jane Littlefield; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sponsored Air Force Academy cadets and dear friends.
