Obituary of Henry Carl Willenbrock, Jr.

On Saturday June 11, 2022, Henry Carl Willenbrock, Jr., "Carl," passed away in the comfort of his family.Carl was born to Heinrick and Loda Willenbrock on September 25, 1923 in Milltown, New Jersey.He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet; wife, Alline; brother, Allen; son, Kevin; and daughter, Melissa.Carl is survived by his sister, Edna Tarantola of Monroe Township, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Betty Kern of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother-in-law, Bill Webb of Grand Junction, Colorado; five sons, Alan (Peggy) of Tucson, Arizona, Tad (Betsi) of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, Clint (Gail) of Littleton, Colorado, Mike (Quinetta) of Manitou Springs, Colorado, and Rob Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son-in-law, Fred Worth of Pueblo, Colorado; seven grandchildren, RC, Nick, Alicia (Gilbert), Jamie (Matt), Kelly (Zach), Kristie, and Jacob; and seven great-grandchildren, Caraline, Devin, Levi, Deacon, Penny, Caleb, and Cora.Carl graduated from Rutgers University in 1945 with a degree in Ceramic Engineering.He joined Harbison Walker Refractories in 1945 and retired in 2003. He sold heat retardant brick to steel mills, hence the move to Colorado Springs with CF&I and Kaiser steel mills close by.�He married Janet Elizabeth Floyd in 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they raised three boys until they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1969.In 1973 he married Alline Wilson who had three boys of her own creating their own version of the Brady Bunch. They welcomed Melissa into the world in 1975.Carl was a member of the Colorado Springs Country Club for forty-four years where he served on numerous�committees as well as the Board of Directors.�He served as the President of the Homeowners Association for twelve years.�He was a lifelong Republican and proud of his service the U.S. Navy.�He volunteered for Special Olympics for three years with the prompting of his daughter, Melissa telling him, "Dad let's do this".He attended Grace Episcopal Church for many years and later helped establish St. George's Anglican Church where he served on the vestry and volunteered where needed.Carl and his family would like to give special thanks to the residents and staff of the Healthcare Resort and Sunny Vista for allowing him to spend his final years with absolutely wonderful people.Celebration of Life, 2:00PM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
