Rachael was a very special friend. We met when she and Sammi and Sparky came to help in HH Poole's Library while Melanie went there. With our love for Jesus and exercise and gardening and libraries, we clicked right away and kept in touch even while both of us moved around. She loved her awesome family fiercely and we would pray often for both of our families and our friends and spend time reading God's Word. I got the job in Ohio after climbing Gray's Peak with Rachael and Mike... literally while we were in the jeep I was on the phone with HR! Rachael joyfully volunteered to come help me pack and drive the uhaul up from Virginia! We had a blast and it was a joy to visit each other and chat over the years. That's the kind of friend she was. Rachael was a warrior for Jesus. Her faith never wavered and we both have experienced that asking Him into your heart and living life with Him and spending time with Him in His Word is such an amazing adventure with our Creator through life's ups and downs. We may not understand everything, but know He has a bigger and better purpose in joy and pain and promises the hope of eternity. Grateful for her encouragement and demonstration of this through such a difficult journey through cancer. I know she is now praising Jesus, running marathons in heaven, hugging her two grandbabies there, and will be there with love and hugs waiting for those of us who have put their lives in Jesus's hands. More than anything, Rachael wanted people to know Jesus as Savior and Friend. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Say hi to Rachael for us, Jesus, tell her we love her, and give her a big hug! Looking forward to all climbing mountains together in heaven!

I was impressed by Rachael's love for the Word of God and her appreciation for worship songs. O how she wished to live a full life to age 70 or 80. O how she wanted to be with her grandchildren, and BE present for special family events, like weddings. I believe I will see her when all believers are gathered together with Christ Jesus. She is free from suffering. She has everlasting life. Christ Jesus will wipe away all of her tears. Rachael, see you later.

Rachael was such a great person! Her life will live on through all the souls she reached while serving at Citychurch. She was a force for joy whether she was leading the group of girls on Sunday or painting fingernails at popsicles in the park. I will never forget her strength !
