Obituary of Flora Amelia Goudeau

Flora Amelia Goudeau, 94, passed away July 16, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born March 6, 1928 to Daniel and Trancito (Perez) Thornton in Nogales, Arizona. She went to high school at Nogales High School and graduated in 1947.Flora went on to earn certification from secretarial school, and worked as a secretary for Water & Power in Los Angeles, California. She then earned a nursing degree, and worded as a pediatric nurse for a short time. Flora also volunteered with the American Red Cross.Flora enjoyed crochet, sewing, gardening, and loved nature.She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Trancito Thornton; eldest son, Henry Goudeau, Jr.; sisters, Laiha and Rosenda Thornton, Maria Elana Lopez, Sally Marina, Lydia Ester Moore, Delia Thornton, and Roselva Edna Murphy; and brothers, Daniel Thornton, II and William Ruben Thornton.Flora is survived by her husband, Henry Goudeau of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters, Grace Evonne Rayos-Ram, Julianna (Larry) Whigham and Tamara Edna (Johnathan) Williams; son, Antonio Pierre Goudeau; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.Memorial contributions in Flora's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601, act.alz.org/donate.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Liberty Heights.Funeral Mass, 10:00AM, Friday, August 12, 2022, St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.
