Obituary of Matthew "Matt" Juan Jose Meehan

Matthew "Matt" Juan Jose Meehan was called to eternal life quietly at his home amongst his family on July 20, 2022 at the age of 48, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Matt was born on October 6, 1973 to the late LeRoy and Senaida Meehan in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He attended Coronado High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado before moving to Ketchikan, Alaska during his high school years and graduated from Revilla High School in Ketchikan, Alaska.After high school, Matt moved back to his hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado.�His occupation for many years was a small equipment mechanic.The great outdoors was where Matt was at home. He had been an avid mountain bike rider and loved the countless times camping and fishing in Alaska and all over Colorado. He was known to have caught some very big fish!�Matt was the beloved brother to surviving siblings, Marla Meehan, Jennifer LaFleur, Roslyn (Adam) Trujillo, Nate (Anna) Meehan, Rebecca Meehan and Leona (Dominic) Lupori. In addition to his siblings, Matt is survived by a host of nephews and nieces; and longtime friend LeeAnna Miller.He was preceded in death by his dad, LeRoy Meehan, earlier in 2022; his Mother, Senaida Meehan, in 2004; and oldest brother, Cooper Meehan, in 2006.A private visitation was held for his siblings on August 3, 2022.Matt will be laid to rest next to his mother at Valdez Cemetery in Walsenburg, Colorado with a Graveside Memorial at 2:00PM, Friday, August 26, 2022.In honor of Matt and his love for the great outdoors, family and friends will gather for a campout August 25-27, 2022 at Martin Lake in Walsenburg, Colorado.
