Obituary of TSgt Ernest Watson Washington, USAF, Jr.

Ernest Watson Washington, Jr. was born to the late Ernest W. Washington,Sr. and Louise Harrison Washington-Frye in Washington, DC on June 23, 1929. He attended and completed his early education within the public school system in the Washington, DC area. Ernest joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for twenty years. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Ernest Jr. worked for many years as a Senior Buyer and Purchasing Agent in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Ernest was blessed with a large and loving family. He married Elsie Walker, also of Washington, DC. Combined, Ernest and Elsie had five children whom they raised with love, patience, discipline and consideration. He taught each of them the basics of life and instilled a strong work ethic.Ernest was affectionately known among his siblings as "Brother". Ernest understood the value of education, and returned to school and received his bachelor's degree. He enjoyed travel, golf, fishing, hunting, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his dogs and numerous pets throughout the years.Ernest lived his life fully, and was called home to rest on July 25, 2022, at the age of 93. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by the children and loved ones from his blended families, including Carmen Washington, Donna Snipe, Jacqueline Flowers, Ernest Washington, III, and Cassandra Swinson; three sisters, Ernestine Plummer, Barbara Carry, Yvonne Hefley; sister-in-law, Jeanne Washington; brother-in-law, Doug Plummer; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and numerous friends.Services Pending.
