Rob was our first experience with Pride Soccer Club and a great first coach for my son Jayden! Those early years were awesome, and we will miss seeing him around Pride for sure! God bless! Justin, Jayden, and Jordyn Lee

Coach Rob was the coach that brought out the best in my daughter as a soccer player. He was the most encouraging and supportive coach we had ever had. Although our time with him was brief, the impact he had on Gracie will last a lifetime. His words reached far beyond just soccer, he truly cared for the whole athlete and his loss is deeply felt.

I worked for Aleut 2016-2017 and my cubicle was next to Rob's cubicle. He was always so positive and kind. Rob was the nicest guy and I will always have fond memories of him! To his family - I'm so sorry for your loss.

We were so fortunate to have Rob as a coach just last spring. He was so kind, humble and encouraging. I couldn't believe how many teams he was coaching and he really seemed to give his all to every team. There must be a ton of kids who are mourning the loss of his life. My prayers go out to his family and his community. This is heart-breaking news.

I'm still having trouble accepting Rob's death. I think about him every day; I see him around town and have to do a double take. I miss his smile, and the bear hug he would give me every time I saw him. He was one of those rare people who has an immediate impact on your life, and I'm still struggling that I'm never going to share a beer, talk, and tell him how much I appreciate him again. I knew Rob for four years, but he's someone I'm going to carry with me for the rest of my own life. I hope I'm as fortunate to have as large of a positive impact on others during my life as Rob did. The world was a better place with you in it, buddy. I miss you.

Coach Rob was my oldest daughter, Kelsey's first Pride soccer coach. He always had a smile on his face and an encouraging, kind word for everyone. I used to sit beside Kristi and the little ones at practices and games and watch them run around . What a huge loss to our community, God Bless the Hilbert family. LeAnn (Starman) Sharon

Coach Rob was my favorite coach I ever had while playing for Pride. He was always kind, patient, and encouraging. He was always around for a big hug or a kind word when you needed it. The one thing I will always keep with me was the time I was having a bad day and he told me " to just give it my best of today because your best every day will not be the same but the most important thing is that you try". You will be forever missed

Rob, I'm so thankful I got to share with you last season our families gratitude of your kindness, mentorship, coaching and support of our girl Harley. You were her biggest cheerleader believing in her when sometimes she didn't believe in herself. You taught her so much about the game and everything she knows about positions and tactical movements is because of you. She felt so comfortable coming to you and asking questions and discussing ideas. You created a culture for your team that built these girls up and empowered them to succeed no matter what challenges they faced. Every player always knew you believed in them! You always had a smile on your face and high fives to share. You will be missed immensely on the Pride soccer fields. Harley will forever cherish the memories, lessons, and encouraging words by Coach Rob. ❤️ Kevin, Brittney, Harley and Gemma Ellis

Rob was always there for his kids and family. I coached one of his sons in the 02 age group. Rob and I talked all the time about how great of a left foot his son had. Already missed, too soon.

Rob was always great to be around. He was a very hard worker with a great smile and a positive attitude. I'll miss stopping by your office on the way to the breakroom for a quick hello. This place won't be the same without you.

Rob, I will forever remember you as a goofy, hardworking, loving person. So many memories, but not enough room. My heart is heavy, life seems so unfair. Thank you for always being the loving, supportive "Auntie Rob" to my kiddos. They always knew they could turn to you! Please know that you were so loved, and we miss you dearly! Miss Isabelle sends her love to her Great Auntie Rob. As I write this she has been smiling and talking. She must have something to say to you! Wish you could have met her! Rest in paradise my sweet brother! Love you! Your little feather

Rob, you were a friend, a fellow Nuggets fan, a coach for my daughter, and a mentor to me as a coach. You went above and beyond for your players, and it showed. You always had a kind word and a smile to share. We love and miss you Coach Rob. - Matt

Rob, this one stings. We grew close after the last year coaching together and I learned a lot from you. You were one of the nicest people I have ever met and you will be missed. The soccer community will not be the same without you.

I have so many favorite memories with Coach Rob. 10+ years of memories, from scrimmaging with the girls at practices, to playing coed indoor, to watching from the sideline or helping on the bench. Through so many wins and losses, I never had to worry about what my daughter was learning from him, whether it was soccer related or life lessons in general. It is easy to take a great coach, a great role model, and a great mentor for granted if you have not experienced a bad coach, role model, and mentor and being a referee, I have experienced both, and unfortunately, too many of the latter. He never got his message wrong and it was always positive, appropriate, and on point. Personally, hanging out after hours on tournamemt weekends, playing cornhole at team or family bbqs (I will never forget Rob challenging me to fast pitch one and I hit 2 in row immediately!), birthdays, weddings, sports games, and anytime we could find a reason to gather will always be my favorite memories to recall. Rob and Kristie were always where we were drawn to. I was blessed to have known him and to develop as a person with him to look up to. I will forever cherish our 1-on-1 chats about nearly everything under the sun. He will forever be one of my favorites! Love ya, Coach Rob. We will be cheering on our Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche, and Rapids with more force than ever these next few years in your memory. Safe travels home and I pray I see you again my friend!

Rob was a kind, wonderful, motivating man to work with. He would walk in the office and tell everyone what a great job they were doing, crack a few jokes and say "Are we done yet?" I will miss you Rob.

Rob was one of the first coaches I met at Pride and one who I grew close with very quickly. He was as warm and genuine as he was tall and had the ability to make anyone he came into contact with the full center of his attention. I will miss his smile, the laughs, the catching up on the state of the Broncos and a truly loyal friend. This, for me, as I'm sure it does for many others, goes far beyond coaching and hurts on the most human level. I look forward to celebrating him and recalling only positive memories.
