Obituary of Ethel Marie "Pepsi Lady" Pratt

Ethel Marie Pratt, age 81, passed peacefully away at home on August 7, 2022.She was born March 2, 1941 in Sultan, Washington to Leonard Carl and Ethel Marie (Heightman) Bean.Ethel is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Ray Pratt, Sr.; her first husband, William John Langdalen, although divorced, they were friends before his death.Ethel worked for Boeing in Renton, Washington as a supervisor in the Airplane Industry and retired after twenty years. The couple both worked for Boeing and chose to raise their four children in Renton, Washington. When she married Ken, she embraced his son, DavidAzevedo. She even took in her granddaughters and helped raise them for a season. When she wasn't working, you could find Ethel at the local bowling alley, attending fishing derbies in Canada, or playing bingo or cards with her friends. She was a lifetime member of the Eagles Fraternal Order of Renton, Washington and took pride in serving others. Ethel was someone who would give the clothes off her back if you needed them. She was part of the local CB club for many years and was given the Trucker handle "Pepsi Lady" because of her favorite soda. After the passing of her husband in 2006, Ethel moved to Utah to be close to her only son, Kenneth Pratt Jr., and his wife, Frances. Ethel followed Ken and his family to Montpelier, where she loved spending time with her grandson, Chris Pratt, granddaughters, Lousie Restorff of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Francy Anderson of Clearfield, Utah, and Ashley Pratt of Montpelier, Idaho. One of her daily routines was getting her morning coffee and donuts at 7-11, where she would catch up on all the local news and connect with people.Ethel underwent surgery for Parathyroid Cancer in 2007 and 2008 and was in remission until September of 2019.Most people would hide and stop living, but not Ethel. She moved to Colorado to be close to her daughter and her family. Living in the county was peaceful. She loved reading, puzzles, and working on her diamond beading pictures. She watched all the deer on the property, raised chicks, took daily walks, and fed the hummingbirds. Ethel always looked forward to going to Costco to get her favorite hot dogs or out to teriyaki lunch. She enjoyed her weekly outing to play cards with her friends and the special trips to BINGO. She is survived by her Colorado family: her daughter, Laurie Elwick and husband, John; grandson, Nate Elwick, his wife Jovena, and their two children, Elias and Rosalie; her granddaughter, Kirsten, newlywed to Nate Collins of San Diego, California. She is survived by her eldest daughter, Deborah Rotondo, and her husband, Paul of Charlotte, North Carolina; granddaughters, Becky Rice Gaither and her husband, Maurice, of Belmont, North Carolina, Lisa Rice Forbes and her husband, James of Rocklin, California, and Jennifer Gabel of Charlotte, North Carolina. She will live on in her great-grandchildren, Angela White, Will Kelly, Jacob Forbes, Nathanael Gaither, Abigail Forbes, Nevaeh Gabel, Elias Elwick, and Rosalie Elwick. Her legacy will also be her great-great-grandchildren, Priscilla, Raiden, and Velkan White. She is survived by her youngest daughter, Kimberly Pogue and her husband, Herb of Auburn, Washington, who recently spent several weeks caring for her mother in Colorado. In April of 2021, Ethel had the privilege of hosting a family reunion where her family gathered around her and shared stories of her life with them. When grandkids would come for a visit, it always brightened her day. She would sit and play on the floor with the little ones or teach yo-yo moves to the older ones. She loved watching her grandson, Will Kelly, play high school basketball. All of her grandkids absolutely love and adore her.She dedicated her life to Jesus in October 2020 and was baptized on Easter Sunday, April 2022.A Celebration of Life service will be in July 2023 in Seattle, Washington. Inurnment, Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, Washington 98042.In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Animal Need Help (anhbearklake.org) organization of Bear Lake for the little animals that brought such joy to Ethel.
