Obituary of Lila Laura Jiron

Lila Laura Jiron departed this world on the evening of September 11, 2022. She was born the daughter of Melvin and Laura Ellis in Holyoke, Colorado on September 17, 1949. She married Daniel Bernardo Jiron on August 7, 1976 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They had a wonderful life together raising two children until his passing in 2002. Following his death, she continued to be an extraordinary mother and grandmother for the next two decades. Lila retired as the Senior Controller from Goodrich Aerospace in 2007 after decades of demonstrated leadership and expertise improving aircraft comfort and safety for millions around the globe. Following the death of her beloved husband, she retired and spent the next ten years of her life in western Colorado. There she reveled in the company of her siblings and their families, a time she cherished immensely. She spent the final five years of her life fiercely battling the effects of dementia with grace and resolve. She will be forever remembered for her positive approach to life and boisterous laugh. Her memory will serve as a constant example of unbounded love and respect for everyone she met. She made the world a better place, and through her poise, resilience, and inner strength she has set a standard to which we can all aspire. Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; her parents; and her brother, Tom. She is survived by her daughter, Rhiannon; son Zach; and their families; her sisters, Carolyn, and Alice; and brothers, Max, Jerry, and Mervin, and their families.
