As a native of Kerrville, TX , I read your father/grandfather's obituary in the Kerrville Daily Times newspaper and realized with regret that my husband and I did not know that he lived there. He and my husband would have had wonderful conversations....you see, his father, Col. Tom Phillips, was a 1948 graduate of West Point and a history professor at the Air Force Academy, 1960-66. We are certain they most likely knew each other well, and being Texas football fans may have watched many games together, as my husband remembers football watch parties while at the Academy. And I do know that my father-in-law also knew his brother, Bill...an acquaintance that likely stemmed from knowing your father. Funny how lives cross paths.
