Obituary of William Edward Courduff

After a hard-fought battle with an aggressive cancer, William Edward Courduff of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on September 29, 2022 while in Hospice care at the age of 93. Bill was born on March 7, 1929 in Huntington, New York to father, William Henry Courduff and mother, Marie Ludorf Courduff. He grew up in a large family with three sisters, Helen Hose, Marie Wolfe and Janet Woods; one brother, Edward Charles Courduff; and his grandmother, Clara Ludorf. Bill joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946, at the age of 17. He was in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, where he received the World War II medal. He served his country proudly and received an honorable discharge. For the next few years, he attended New York University, in New York city, New York. He was then eager to start his own business, Courduff Landscape Company. Bill married Helen Manaro, and together they raised five children. Bill was a self-motivated professional landscape architect, and had an unmatched work ethic. He loved his family with all his heart. His time to relax was being out on a sailboat. He became an avid sailor during this time. Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Sirmon) Courduff; his children, Donna Courduff-Bemiss of Centerport, New York, Vicki Courduff-O'Hanlon of Palm Coast, Florida, William John Courduff of Big Bear City, California, Patti Courduff-Leicht of Cocoa, Florida, and Kristina Courduff-McCallan of Melbourne, Florida; four sons-in-law; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; his three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edward Charles Courduff.
