My deepest sympathy to Laura's family and her many friends. I met Laura while working as a medical transcriptionist at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Laura had an indomitable spirit and a sparkling personality that made any occasion a happy one just by her presence. Laura's artistic talent is truly amazing, I have a large folder containing her very clever and amusing cartoon drawings of medical terms, which always make me smile. I also have sculptures, drawings, and handmade cards she sent over the years. Although these are all very precious to me, I won't need any keepsakes to remember Laura always as a very dear friend. I met Laura when she and Bob were first married, I can't say why but we shared a great freindship and were always glad to see each other at gatherings. She was a very caring and happy lady and we would laugh and talk and have the best of times. She was loved and will be missed. God has another angel to help him look over the world. This is not goodby, this is so long, till we meet again in heaven Mike Brecht

I knew Laura when she lived in Portland. Vibrant and Enthusiastic. Two words that come to mind when I think of her. She had a unique (and enviable) style of home interior. I was always a little wistful when I left, wishing I had that talent. My favorite times with her were at the annual Greek Festival where we would enjoy the food, the Retsina and the music. Each Christmas she sent me a handmade card...a simple sketch of a camel (my spirit animal) -- very simple, very free in style. I have saved every one of them. She leaves us feeling lost but filled with great memories.
