Obituary of Joann "JoJo" Goodson

JoAnn "JoJo" Goodson, 62, passed away on November 6, 2022 after fighting a long and courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. JoJo was born on February 10, 1960 to William Taylor and Janice Kay (Freeberg) Goodson. JoJo graduated from Peyton High School in 1978. After high school, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she had several jobs throughout the years and made many friends, but her favorite job was being a mom. When she became a grandma, she was so proud of her two beautiful grandchildren, as she loved her family with all her heart. Prior to her illness, she was a medical coder for Penrose Hospital. JoJo was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved music and she was gifted enough to learn how to play the accordion, piano, and organ at an early age. She also loved photography, cooking, baking, and country dancing at Cowboy's every Friday night. She was the most adorable little darling and she was the perfect example of what classy' means. When she walked in a room, it lit up, because she was blessed with beauty, grace, and an incredible sense of style, along with a beautiful smile. She could also make friends in a matter of minutes, as her kind heart and soul were felt in an instant. JoJo is survived by her loving, caring, and devoted longtime partner Linden Hoxie; her daughter, Mikki Butler; her two grandchildren, Devonte and Aliana Butler; her mother, Janice Goodson; her siblings, Deanna (Ed) Andres, Susie (John) Castanien, Kathy (Dave) Taufa, Starr (Becky) Goodson, and Dawn (Glenn) Zahlsmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members. JoJo was preceded in death by her father, Bill Goodson; her daughter, Kayla R. Butler; and her two canine companions, Max, and Twinkie. JoJo will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always remembered by all that knew and loved her, as she left such an impact on our hearts and lives. The family would like to truly thank the staff at Namaste, Optum, and Interim Hospice for the wonderful care that you gave to JoJo. We greatly appreciate your love and kindness, and for always caring for her. You are angels on earth, and we are thankful for what you do. We know that JoJo is with Dad and Kayla, and in a better place dancing with the angels, so until we are all together againdance on beautiful little JoJo, dance on!
