Obituary of Grace LaNell Rockwell

Grace LaNell Rockwell of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away November 13, 2022. She was born to Richard and LaVera Sabin in Enid, Oklahoma. LaNell graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1959. She continued on to become a registered x-ray technician. LaNell began work as an x-ray technician for the Orthopedic Association in Colorado Springs, Colorado and retired as the office manager for them. After retirement, she worked for Tyree Associates. LaNell was involved in Sweet Adelines from May, 1958 until her passing. In October 1965, she was a charter member of the Velvet Hills Chorus in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She served in a variety of leadership roles within the chorus and region, earning numerous awards and honors. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed her many trips to Wichita and of course to Cripple Creek. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pat Tyree; and Pete Tyree. LaNell is survived by her son, Richard Steven (Michelle) Rockwell; granddaughters, Brittany Elizabeth and Elizabeth Ann Rockwell; nieces, Diane Lanell (Godfrey) Brooke and Donna Jane Tyree; nephew, David Perry (Diana) Tyree; and many more nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial contributions in LaNell's name may be mailed to the Velvet Hills Chorus of Colorado Springs at PO Box 7448, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80933, to continue her legacy with the Chorus.
